The Power of Praying Blessings with Kim Garland

Have you ever wished you could pray for someone in a way that helps them to know God better and trust Him more?  I believe blessing prayers are the way to do that.

Before I learned about blessing prayers it seemed like I was always pleading with God to do good for the person I was praying with, as if He had to be begged to release His goodness toward that person.  That never felt right to me.  Learning how to pray God’s blessings into a person’s life has transformed not only how I view prayer, but also how I view God and even myself.

I don’t believe it is a coincidence that this workshop is scheduled for Election Day.  What better day to bless others, especially those with whom we disagree?  It’s very hard to hold onto negative feelings toward someone when you are speaking God’s blessings into their life.

It’s also a timely topic right before the holidays, when some of us will be facing spending time with family members who are hard to get along with.  Watch how blessing prayers can transform those times.

Please join me as we look at the power of praying blessings.

Kim Garland is on the Board of The Blessing Place of Western North Carolina.  She has also been teaching children to know and love Jesus for 30 years and is currently the Director of Children’s Ministry at Higgins Memorial UMC in Burnsville, NC.  She is passionate about prayer and helping others learn more effective ways of praying.  She and her husband have four wonderful sons and one amazing granddaughter.

***PLEASE, NOTE - Workshop Fee $5 if you have NOT already signed up and paid the initial fee of $25 for the Healing Winds Conference.

Workshop #3

Tuesday, December 1    7:30 – 9:00 PM EST. via Zoom Meeting

Restoring My Soul with the Reverend Sarah Bronos

King David often lived in the midst of fearful situations: as a young lad caring for his father’s sheep, who alone could keep them protected from wild animals; as a young man on the run from an insanely jealous King Saul, having to hide in caves in the desert, relying solely on the Lord to provide food and water for him; as a middle aged man with enemy armies ranged against him; as an older man fleeing from the betrayal of his son. In all these situations David prayed to the Lord – he poured out his heart to the Lord, sometimes questioning, sometimes in anger, but over and over again once he had poured everything out in all honesty he came back to the rock solid faith that God was in control, that God was good, and that God cared deeply for him, and that the One whom he knew as the Good Shepherd could and would restore his soul. He can restore ours too. Join me as we allow the Good Shepherd to heal our fractured souls through the words of King David’s most well-known psalm.

The Reverend Sarah Bronos is an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Central Florida. She retired from full time parish ministry in 2018. Since then she has largely focused on the healing ministry and being a doting grandmother.  Rev’d Sarah is the Associate Priest for the Healing Ministry at Church of the Ascension in Orlando where she also leads a weekly Bible Study. She leads online healing services via Church of the Ascension’s Facebook live-stream on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. Rev’d Sarah is the Director of Online Healing Communities for OSL. She sits on the board of Amazing Love Healing Ministry and is the Chaplain of Healing Hearts & Healing Hands OSL community. Rev’d Sarah also has an audio recording ministry of Morning Prayer and Compline that can be found in iTunes Podcasts at Prayer Time.

Who Are We?

In the spring of 2018, under the experience, faith, and able leadership of the Rev. John Rice as Director, the Lord has risen up a new healing prayer ministry, “The Blessing Place of Western North Carolina,” at a beautiful mountainside, Christian Retreat Center in Burnsville, NC. We are nondenominational and Holy Spirit driven.  The ministry was “birthed” with a prayer ministers’ training weekend followed by a Healing Prayer Weekend. Both weekends were blessed with a fresh release of the Holy Spirit that equipped and empowered the prayer ministers for healing and led prayer recipients to experience the love and healing presence of Jesus. If you or someone you know would benefit from being blessed and prayed for in the beauty of God’s creation, you are encouraged to join us for a weekend of healing prayer.

At The Blessing Place of Western North Carolina, we have witnessed God’s people being healed and set free of emotional hurts, broken relationships, physical illness, spiritual oppression and other life struggles by speaking Spirit-filled blessing prayers and using other forms of prayer for physical, spiritual, or inner healing (see the "Training" and "Events" sections of our web site).

God’s promise to bless is certainly being fulfilled at this beautiful location in Western North Carolina!
